Ms. Chan is the founder of SWC Financial Group. She graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor's degree in marketing and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® certificate.

Ms. Chan’s unique background makes her passionate about helping people realize their financial success. She came to the United States at the ripe old age of 17. She has seen people work hard and stash away all their hard-earned money in a savings vehicle that only offered dismal interest. They lived their lives by default with neither planning nor aspirations. when they retired, they were shocked to realize that, with ever-rising inflation, their savings were not worth as much as they wished for. For many, a decent retirement lifestyle is well beyond their reach.

Shirley lives in Chicago, where she is actively involved in non-profit initiatives promoting financial literacy and empowerment. She is also an active executive director of the Hong Kong Club, an organization that helps build a better place for the Asian community to live and do business.

Shirley enjoys traveling, reading/learning, yoga/Chinese qigong, spending time with family and friends, and her two lovely cats, Tiger and Suki!
